I am a man full of problems

All school should have rubbish bins!

I believed all school should have rubbish bins, because pollution is a serious problem in the world that we live in today.

• If schools didn’t have rubbish bins, students will have to put rubbish back into their bags. However the rubbish might be wet and full of germs, which means that if it is collected back into our bags, then we’ll be carrying a bag full of germs home.

•   If we don’t have rubbish bins, young people might just throw rubbish everywhere because they probably won’t know what to do without bins, thus causing piles of rubbish that contaminates our environment.

• Without rubbish bins at our school, rubbish might fall to the ground and creatures wight ingest it, causing them to starve to death.

I conducted a survey to support my arguments, and the results are as followed conducted:

Question: What would happen to our school if we didn’t have rubbish bins?

31 out of 39 people thought that without rubbish bins, pollution would take over the world and 8 people disagreed.

• Question: What would we do if we had non-recyclable trash and we had no rubbish bins? 83.8% of students hoped that the  rubbish would just decompose and 16.2 disagreed.    

In conclusion,  we need rubbish bins in our schools so that we can contain the rubbish and not causing harm our environment.

I like living in New Zealand!

New Zealand is located on the South Western Pacific ocean.

It has four seasons. Autumn, Summer, Winter and Spring. When it is Summer, Doesn’t get so hot that the poisonous and vicious animals can survive, However it is hot enough to cause skin cancer.

The tallest mountain in New Zealand is the Aoraki mountain and it is 3,754 in height. it is located in the South Island of New Zealand.

Auckland is the most populated city in New Zealand. It is so populated that some people think that Auckland is the capital city of New Zealand, but it is actually Willington.

The native people of New Zealand are Maori people. Then the British whale catchers and other travellers came to New Zealand. When the British came they started making trouble.

So a man named William Hobson made a Treaty. Then he invited all the Maori and some of the  British leaders to sign the treaty.

 

New Zealand is the a really good place to live in because it is one of the safest countries in the world.

Playing in a tournament is fun!

Wednesday the 24th of May, our football team went to Pt. England Reserve for our football tournament. We had to meet at our school car park at 8:30 in the morning so that we can all arrive at our destination in time.

We had three teams: the year 5, year 6, and the intermediate team. In the year five and six team, we had  seven players aside including the goalie. I was the goalie, we had three strikers and three defender. The Intermediate team had 9 aside, they had four strikers, four defenders and a goalie. We played against Pt. England, Panmure Bridge, Tamaki Primary, Stonefields and Ruapotaka School. They were all really good players and they had good control of the ball.

Once all the players had assembled at our school car park, we were assigned to a car to travel in. Once we had all hopped into our designated car, we were off to Pt. England Reserve. I travelled back in my friend’s car. On our way back, Kevin and I discussed the positions that everybody had.

We were the first school to arrive at the field and Miss Choa was worried that the venue had changed. However Shawn soon arrived and so we knew we were at the right place because he’s the sport coordinator for our cluster. While we were waiting, we practiced our dribbling and passing and we also ran around the field. I felt really warm. I was very warm and tired after our warm-up so I took a break. However, after a while, I joined my team again for more warm up.

During the game, I felt a scared because I was afraid of being injured. We had five rounds and no breaks in between. Some times I caught the ball, but Sometimes I didn’t I didn’t. Our team lost four of the rounds and we had tie in the end.

I really enjoyed playing football even though we lost, but I didn’t care because I had so much fun.

If you have not seen Hotel Transylvania, don't read the paragraph that says spoiler alert!

On the 26th of April, my family and I went to my cousin’s house to for a visit and we also checked the wiring of the house.

It was so peaceful on the road but it took us 4 hours to get there. On the way I saw a lots of trees and shops. When we finally arrived, we took off our shoes and rushed towards the living room as fast as I can see in front of me.

(⚠Warning spoiler alert⚠)I watched Hotel Transylvania and it was funny. It had lots of monsters and they were scared of people. One day, a young teen accidentally went to the monster hotel and Dracula the owner saw him and he disguised him as a monster. In the end they realised he was not a monster and they were shocked because the monsters really enjoyed playing with him and Dracula’s daughter really like him because she was in loved with him.

Soon it was lunch time and we had some crispy fried chicken for lunch. The chicken was crunchy because it was fried really well.

After we had our meal, my dad and my cousin went to the farm near their house. After the sun went down, I pumped the airbed very slowly because I was really tired.After that, I went to bed.

The following morning, my mum cooked us some spam for breakfast. The spam was really juicy and kind of oily. When we finishes eating, we packed our clothes very quietly because my cousin was still asleep and then we went home.

I enjoyed watching cartoon network on their television because I like watching cartoons. I hope we are going there for our next term break as well.

I Miss My Mum When She is Working!

It was Friday the 10th of March, when the end of the school bell rang, I grabbed my bag and went quickly outside. Soon I saw my dad and ran towards him. Normally my mum is the one that picks us up but today was her first day of work .

First we dropped my cousin off. Then we had to wait for my brother to finish school in Glenn Innes. While we were waiting for my brother, we brought, we brought some chicken from KFC for dinner. Once my brother had met up with us, we went to Burger King.

When we arrived, we all ordered the Bomb because it’s made out of bacon, hamburger with lots of meat in it.  We also bought ice cream sundaes. I had a strawberry flavoured sundae, but I didn’t finish mine because my tummy was so full from the Bomb burger, so I  took my sundae home to eat.

After we arrived home, I got changed into my casual wear and took my sundae with me to go and watch a movie. It was a movie called Planes. It was about a plane who dreamed of becoming a racer in the sky. However he was scared of heights. After the movie my dad told us to brush our teeth and go to bed.

subtitle: On Tuesday the 28th of March, Katie Glynn came to our school and I was so excited because it was my first time meeting a professional field hockey player. She talked about her old team and about the games that she played. She said to dream big, never give up and to make choices about what we want. At the end, we asked questions about her games and about her. I was really happy to meet Katie Glynn and to learn about the game of field hockey.

Aren't The Pools Amazing?

                      Swimming in the Pool
It was 9am on Sunday morning when we prepared our swimming gear. My family, cousin, and I went to Lagoon Pool & Leisure Centre because it was a very hot outside.

When we arrived, my mum only paid for three dollar because children are free of charge. My brother and cousin had a bracelet which meant that they didn't need anyone to look after them. We took our goggles and then we were off. 

First we went swimming in the children's pool but we were for a little while. Then we went to the out door splash pad. I only stayed there for 10 minutes because for me the water was splashing shapely and and kind of hurting my skin. We went back  to the children's pool again and we tried to help or sister to swim but she was always that scared she might drown.

When my sister went to the in door pool we played our own game.I called it pool race. When we got to the end of the pool we needed to go back to the starting line then we go under and over the ropes in the pool. I always came last because I was just  starting to learn swimming, then is was time to go home. We got changed in the bath room just in time for my dad to pick us up. My mum had to walk home because we didn't a have space for her.

I like the splash pad the most because we had so much fun there. I hope that we could go back there again soon.

Meat Balls with Carrot

L.I.-W.A.L.T.-write a in recipe using carrots.
Success Criteria:I know I can do this when I make a recipe of a meat ball with carrot


Ingredients:
½ ground pork
1½ of grated carrot
1 small onion
6 cloves garlic(use less if you don't like garlic)  
1 tbsp of soy sauce
1 tsp of salt
½ tsp of ground black pepper
3-4 cps of oil for frying

Tools/Materials you'll need:
Knife/Food chopper
Cutting board
Large mixing
Plate or baking  sheet
Frying pan
Spider strainer or slotted spoon
Paper towels

Procedure:
1.Peel onion and garlic. Slice onion into cubes.Mince them as fine as you can.

2.Peel 2 to 3 pieces  of  regular carrots.Grate them finely.

3.Mix everything together except the cooking oil in a large mixing bowl. It’s best to use your clean hands to do the job to ensure all ingredients are well-combined.

4. Scoop portion of meat mixture and form into a ball. Set aside.

5. Repeat step 4 until mixture is used up.

6. Heat up oil on frying pan over medium high heat. Once oil is hot, carefully drop meatballs one by one. (Test by sprinkling water into the oil. It should be ready when it sizzles). Do not overcrowd the pan.

7. Deep fry until golden brown, about 10 minutes.

8. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.

9.Serve warm meat balls.Refrigerate the rest by keeping them in an airtight container or Ziploc bag and freeze for future use.

Cats have many different ways of showing their feelings.

When cats are playful they show their feelings by leaping up on your knee to sleep.They jump to high places like cabinets to see every thing.They chase laser beam as I  move it along.They follow ants and stomp on them.

When cats are angry they show their feelings by making their fur stand up  to make them look like big so the other cats will be scared.They twitch their tail to  signal other cats not to go near them.They scratch other cats to protect them selves.

Cats are the most playful animal in the whole world!
